In Bangladesh, most organizations have arrangements in place for fire extinguishers at their office premises as part of their Fire Safety and Management plan. While this is a necessary and positive step, we've observed that a significant number of employees are not properly trained on how to actually use a fire extinguisher. More importantly, many are unaware of the basic steps to take in case of a fire emergency — how to protect themselves first, secure important documents second, and then focus on saving property.
Recognizing this gap, we recently conducted a Basic Fire Safety Awareness Event at our office. The goal was to educate our team on how to respond effectively during a fire incident. The session included demonstrations on how to use different types of fire extinguishers, evacuation protocols, and the prioritization of safety measures during an emergency.
We strongly encourage you to organize a similar training session in your own office. Creating awareness among employees is not just a compliance requirement — it can save lives.
To support your initiative, we’ve shared the presentation used during our session. You can access it via the link below. This material is designed to raise awareness and empower your team to take quick and effective action in case of a fire emergency.
